So maybe a little more than just a thousand words…
A brief break from my series of text-less images…
I had the pleasure of visiting the Rocking R6 Ranch this past Saturday. This is the fourth consecutive year that I’ve visited Butch Ramirez’s little piece of heaven, and this visit certainly did not disappoint. If as they say a picture is worth a thousand words, then I came home with about 2.9 million words of outstanding goodness.
The photographic highlights of the day included having 5 Harris’s Hawks all posing at the same time in the morning blind, some wonderful opportunities with Pyrrhuloxia in the cactus blind, and a long session with a Javelina in the afternoon blind.
The photographic-related highlight was getting to spend time with three other outstanding photographers. Butch Ramirez, the owner of the Rocking R6, is a highly accomplished nature photographer with many magazine covers to his credit. Also along for the day were photographers from Laredo and San Antonio. Having the four of us in the blind together made for an outstanding shooting experience and a heck of a learning experience for yours truly.
More images to come as I work through this set of images.
