About Jim
A person’s passions say a lot about a who they are, and in this forum I discuss them. My passions include:
Photography: I enjoy making beautiful images. I enjoy allowing others see what I can see. I enjoy the peace and tranquility that comes with being behind the camera.
Nature: Natural places are important to me. Sharing nature with those who do not get to see it is important to me. My photography helps to do this. But so does volunteer work, my work with Friends of San Angelo State Park, and my appreciation for groups like Beavercreek Wetlands Association.
Iceland: Without a doubt, nothing has changed me or my life more than the parts of 9 years that I lived in Iceland. It is responsible for kindling my passion for photography. It reinforced my interest in nature. And it taught me things about myself that I either didn’t know or didn’t want to know. Iceland made me a better person and while I am intensely loyal to the United States, I have a very special place in my heart for Iceland.
Communications Technology: How we communicate has changed remarkably in the last 30 years. Digital photography is an example of this, but so are nearly all other forms of communication. The technology, like any tool, is neutral. How it is used can be for both good and bad. I am fascinated by the changes and I have a passion to keep up with what is next.
